Building the FantasTwinning School

To design and create the FantasTwinning School, pupils from participating schools in Slovakia, Greece, Tunisia, Turkey and Spain will have to get down to work and work collaboratively to agree on important aspects to make FantasTwinning School their ideal and perfect school.

1. The starting point of the project has been to introduce the main thread to the students through the video presentation.

2. To find out where all the participating schools are located on the map we have mapped them on google map.

3. To get to know each other teachers and students have introduced themselves. The task of introducing themselves has been carried out by students in year 4th. Click on the following links to get to the FantasTwinners’ collaborative wall on Padlet.

From the subject of  Civic and Ethical Values, 6th graders have worked on personal growth and how to transform negative thoughts into positive ones. They have learnt that everyone is important, just like the pieces of a puzzle. Using this simile, they introduce themselves to the rest of the FantasTwinning Community showing what they are good at.

4. The participating schools have also been presented with a tour of each school. In the following video you can see the magnificent narrative work done by our students. Students from all levels, from 1st to 6th of Primary Education, have participated in the recording.

In the following Genially you can discover what the schools participating in the project are like.

5. As our eTwinning project involves working in collaboration with teachers and pupils from other countries through ICT, it is essential and necessary to know basic aspects of online safety and netiquette. That is why we have been working on these aspects in class.

Once we had learned what netiquette is and how to work safely on the Internet, we put it into practice with online games (Kahoot and Quizzi) created by our classmates from other participating schools and our teachers.

6. Another activity of the project was to design the project logo. Each participating school would submit a design and then a vote would be held to choose the logo that would represent our school The FantasTwinning School.

The starting point was to design our proposal. To do this, the 1st, 2nd and 3rd graders got down to work in Arts and with their creativity they drew magnificent logos.

After the three finalists were chosen, a vote was held in which 5th and 6th grade pupils took part. In the following video you can see the whole process.

If you click on the following picture you can see the logos that the other participating schools will take to the final logo competition and the number of votes that each proposal received.

The 4th graders were in charge of voting for the best logo.

7. Our 5th and 6th graders also took part in a Christmas card exchange.

8. Our students have also created a mural in ARTS dedicated to the project. They are artists!

9. Our 2nd year students have also participated in a collaborative digital mural for Peace Day in which the schools involved in the project have participated.

Learning and having fun with Bee Bots

From the subject of “Profundización Educativa” we have introduced the children to the programming language. In our school we have a classroom called "the classroom of the future" in which we have carried out numerous programming activities. But before getting to work, our language assistant, Tim, explained the different corners as well as some of the activities and tools they would be using, such as the bee bots.

The 2nd graders had a great time while learning without realising it! 😀 Check it out!
